OUR BREWERY
Located in Péruwelz, the brewery Caulier has been prodly producing its own beers for 25 years, with the primary mission of brewing up moments of plesure.
Our current team of 70 passionate brew up Bon Secours, Paix Dieu and Stuut, lively beers with character and 100% natural.
Our story
The launch of distribution activities
Charles Caulier, a miner, left his job and decided to set up as a beer merchant in Bonsecours, a small village in the south of Belgium. At the time, only table beer was really available, and distribution rounds in the village were carried out using a handcart.
Second generation
Charles is now old enough to hand over to his two sons, Roger and Christian, who in the meantime have married two sisters, Jeannine and Monique. The two couples worked together with a single objective in mind: the prosperity of their business. They set their sights on creating cafés, while continuing their efforts in retail distribution.
Buildings too narrow
In 1980, Roger and Linda Caulier took over the family business and continued to grow. The warehouses soon became too small, so they bought the buildings of an old tannery in Péruwelz. It is still in these buildings that the Brewery’s products are brewed.
Brewery inauguration
In the early 90s, Roger and Linda decided to market their own beer: a top-fermented lager made to order. Bon Secours was born! The beginnings were promising, but their dream was still to create their own brewery. This dream became a reality when they bought the equipment from the Deneve brewery in Schepdaal and opened the first brewery in 1996!
Fourth generation
In 2012, Laurent, Bertrand and Vincent joined their parents in the adventure. They share the same ambition: to help as many people as possible discover the flavours of yesteryear by producing beers with character that are natural and lively. This year saw the start of major investment in the brewery and the launch of two new products: Paix Dieu and STUUT.
New brewhouse
To meet the growing demand for its products, in 2018 the Brewery began a major multi-year investment programme to triple its production capacity. The historic brewhouse is being extended, new fermentation and aging tanks are being added, and the bottling line is being modernised.
A year of works
As part of the investment plan to triple its production capacity, the brewery continues to grow and has built a new building and a 2nd brewhouse. The fermentation room and the hot room are also being extended.
